Memphis is really a fun town. We had a nice three days in Tennessee over the holiday. I figured I’d better document it. Here’s a mini-recap.
We spent Thanksgiving Day at Ryan’s aunt and uncle. We ate ungodly amounts of food and the guys watched football.
We also made gingerbread men and attempted a gingerbread house. (Much more difficult than it looks. It seems to take a masters in engineering to accomplish. None of us had aforementioned degree.)
We took lots of family photos.
On Friday, I woke up and hit some stores. I didn’t do any Christmas shopping but I did find some lovely things for myself. Oh well.
Then, we went downtown Memphis for lunch at Rendezvous, a BBQ joint. They brought us out red beans and rice, which immediately made Ryan happy. It was a neat place.
After supper, we headed down to Beale Street for the night. We listened to a blues band and enjoyed the entertainment.
Thanks to Ryan’s family for inviting us down! We had a great time!

After spending about 40% of my life in Memphis I can’t exactly say it’s my favorite spot. This is especially true after spending 50% of my life in Key West, Fl. I can say though it is where you will find the best bbq EVER! Next time try Tom’s bbq. Hands down the best melt in your mouth bbq you will ever have. And their fried catfish is to die for. You won’t regret it!

Man, looks like an action-packed Thanksgiving. I did lots of lounging around at my in-laws’ place. I’ve never tried making a gingerbread house, but I fail at making gingerbread so I assume I’d fail at making it into a house as well.

We fed 152 people at the Superstition Room here at Mountainbrook. We had 19 volunteers helping us and it was actually really fun and we got to meet a lot of new people. Your carriage ride looked awesome. What great photos!

I love Memphis, my best friend lives there!
I can’t believe the carriage driver had a pug, how ironic is that?
You guys definitely look like you had a great time!
My cousins and I made a gingerbread house. I looks pretty ghetto, but we had lots of fun!

I suck at gingerbread houses too. The only time I’ve successfully made one, I cheated and superglued the house together first, then covered the superglue to make it LOOK like it was frosted, lol!

We had a good holiday weekend. It was just George and I so we went Wednesday to a meat and 3 go some to-go plates and reheated it on Thursday. After we ate we went to see New Moon and to Walmart.
