Give Thanks Burlap Banner
(I put this together with some burlap I had on hand. I cut out the pennants and frayed the edges. Then, I just eyeballed the letters and cut them out of a contrasting burlap. I sewed the top closed so I could put the twine through it. Originally, I was planning to sew the letters on the burlap. But, I was tired. I was covered in burlap fuzz. So, I just glued it on. It held on well and it was a lot simpler. =) Overall, I think it turned out well. Even hubby thought it was nice.)
Thanksgiving “Thankful” Cards
(For the last few years, I thought it would be nice to send out a few thankfulness cards at Thanksgiving. I like the idea because it’s unexpected and I think it’s thoughtful. The blog party gave me the motivation to finally do it. Here are the cards I came up with. I had these cute owl stamps that I wanted to use. I love the way the trees came out. I printed off the “I am thankful for _______” on our home computer. Overall, for a novice cardmaker, I’m happy with the results. I sent them last week and I hope the people we are thankful for like them as much as I do.)
“Hoo’s Thankful”
(Since I had out the owl stamps, I decided to stamp some more. I had these little cards on hand, so I stamped them and attached them with clothespins to twine. We can write things we are thankful for in the cards. After I made it, I decided that the cards would also make the cutest place cards. Then, everyone could write what they are thankful for inside.)

Kim,
Thanks so much for doing this. I had so much fun reading about everyone’s Thanksgiving crafts (and your cards are so cute!). I also loved getting a few comments on my own blog and feel good knowing I’ve given others the same.
I can’t wait to see what you show us for next weeks theme. Hope I can keep up with it though, I already am behind as I haven’t quite finished this weeks project. 🙂

Love all your ideas…I made a burlap banner, but I haven’t hung it or taken pics yet. I’m too late for the party, but I’m enjoying all the links.
I’m following…

Okay, now that I successfully manuevered the MckLinky I can comment on your projects (I’m a one track mind kinda girl!) Love your burlap banner. And not just because it’s burlap. So nice. And your cards are fabulous – you card makers put me to shame when I show up to birthday parties with a quick note written on an index card. It’s kinda my thing.

Love the cards, especially because they feature owls! The clothes pins and twine are really clever and fit the holiday well. Love it!

Love all your projects. And so thrifty too, using stuff you already had! I love the little trees on your cards. I also really like the idea of sending thankful cards. I may try to do that next year. 🙂

Wow you were busy! What great ideas and I am also loving that owl stamp. The cards are so cute and could be used as general notecards and not have to be thanksgiving specific if you did not want them to be.
Thanks for stopping by my blog….I am glad you like the craft room. Also thanks for hosting the party!

Those little owls are so ah-damn-dorable. Or should I say, owl-dorable. (Apologies for the bad joke, I just couldn’t resist!) If I had that stamp, I’d be owl-ing everything in sight.
Kind of making me want a tootsie roll pop, too…

Nicely done! Those little owl cards are so adorable! How fun would it be to write down what you’re thankful for on cards every year and then compile them in a big “thankful” album? Or box? So you can look back each year to see what you were thankful for other years?
Erin @ Domestic Adventure says
Your projects look great, Kim! I am so impressed. I love how you displayed the cards with clothespins–very festive!

I love all your crafts! I think I’m totally gonna steal the little cards on twine, though, so everyone at our Thanksgiving dinner can write what they’re thankful for. Love it!
