Since both houses are – for lack of a better word – “done,” it’s fun to be able to do little things. Things that don’t take much time or money but make me happy nonetheless.
This weekend – we did a little swaparoo in the bathroom.
A pretty standard towel rod that came in a set. It just held towels that were never used, because it’s a pain to make anything on a rod look “good.”
Chris at Just Beachy installed hooks in her bathroom, explaining that it looks better than a rod for drying towels. *Lightbulb* We could add hooks for our upstairs bathroom instead of hanging our wet towels over the top of the shower curtain.
I was planning to pick up 5 or six hooks and put them on a board like Chris. But, when I got to the hardware section at Target, I realized it was $4/hook or $20 for a set already put together. So I picked it up and Ryan and I put it up when I got home. Ten minutes later, I was happy.
Within 24 hours, I had Freecycled our towel rod and someone picked it up. (She was thrilled to get a barely used towel rod. I was thrilled to be rid of it.)
Easy-peasy. And, it really makes me smile every time I was by. (Don’t worry, it’s level. The photos just don’t look like it.)
I call that a success.
Have you done something in your house that wasn’t difficult or costly, but still gave you joy? Do tell.
