The herbs I have started indoors are growing for me.
I know it’s a fact of nature. But, it doesn’t make me any less excited.
I’d like to believe they are growing because I give them so much love. I even talk to them to encourage them to grow. (Shhh! Don’t tell anyone.)
Here are the herbs I’m planning to grow (some will be started outside in May).
These will smell divine on the deck and will help me make lots of good salsa, pasta, salad dressings and bruschetta (As Ms. Ray would say – YUMMO!). But, I’ve also been assembling other ideas to use all the herbs we grow this year. I’ll be sharing these on the blog periodically (I know you are on the edge of your seats. Hang on tight!)
Do you have any creative ways to use herbs?

Ooooooh beautiful herbalicious garden. Makes me want to make pesto or aioli.
I grow a ton of basil, cilantro and rosemary – they are staples in my cooking !
Great blog….

for the life of me I couldn’t get my rosemary to sprout…I hear they have a very low germination rate so I am not taking it personally 🙂 Your herb garden is going to be awesome!

Wow! That is a lot. I don’t have great ideas but I can’t wait to hear yours. Last year a lot of my herbs went to waste because while I made a lot of pesto and used them to cook- there was still too much. I grew chocolate mint and never once used it.

I make a killer pesto and focus my herb garden around basil as a reult. I’d be happy to give you a tutorial (lol – because it’s so difficult). Otherwise we love to make salsa with cilantro, and salmon flavored with rosemary on the grill is one of our favorite summertime meals!

Nice choices! I started Mint, Oregano, Parsley, Basil and Cilantro seeds last weekend. I’m just putting mine in terra-cotta pots on the deck so i can bring ’em inside if necessary.
I’ve already got some oregano sprouting and a bunch of the flower seeds I started have sprouted. It’s so exciting, isn’t it?
